Terms of Use

Snake River Academy is a family-led homeschool co-op serving Twin Falls and the Magic Valley. We are not a school and do not replace home instruction. Parents remain the primary educators of their children and retain full responsibility for their children's education. Classes are taught by parent volunteers, not by licensed or credentialed staff, unless otherwise stated.

Parent Portal accounts are for parents and guardians of participating families. You agree to provide accurate information, keep it current, and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

We may suspend or remove an account that is inactive, that contains inaccurate information, or that is used in a way that conflicts with these terms or the wellbeing of our community.

Submitting a waitlist application does not guarantee acceptance. The Academy reviews applications and accepts families based on space, age-group balance, and the needs of the community. Acceptance may be withdrawn if information provided was inaccurate.

Requesting a class is a request, not a guaranteed placement. To balance class sizes, staff every hour, and keep age groups appropriate, Academy directors may rearrange students, teachers, assistants, and classes as needed. Final schedules are published in the Parent Portal once registration closes.

Classes may be combined, rescheduled, or cancelled — for example when enrollment is too low or a teacher becomes unavailable. We will let affected families know as soon as we can.

Our co-op depends on parent participation. Parents who propose or teach a class agree to prepare and lead it for the semester, to be present and on time, and to notify the Academy promptly if they can no longer teach. Proposals are reviewed by the Academy and may be accepted, modified, or declined.

Class fees and the family fee are shown on your invoice each semester. Invoices are issued through the Parent Portal with a due date. Payment is expected by that date. Fees are used to cover class materials and the operating costs of the co-op.

Refunds. Refunds are available only before classes have started for the semester. If you withdraw a student before the first day of classes, the fees for that student's classes are refunded. Once classes have begun, fees are non-refundable — including if a student withdraws, stops attending, or is removed from a class partway through the semester. Materials are purchased and teachers plan around confirmed enrollment, so those costs are committed once the semester is underway.

The one exception is a class cancelled by the Academy. If we cancel a class after the semester has begun, the fee for that class is refunded or credited to your family.

We ask that every family treat teachers, volunteers, students, and one another with respect. Behavior that disrupts classes or is unsafe may result in a student being removed from a class or a family being asked to leave the co-op. Parents are responsible for their children's conduct and supervision except while a child is in a scheduled class.

You are responsible for what you submit — class proposals, feedback, notes, and photos. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to share, and only upload photos of children for whom you are the parent or guardian. You give the Academy permission to use what you submit for the purpose of operating the co-op. We may remove content that is inaccurate, inappropriate, or not in keeping with our community.

Photos you upload to the Parent Portal are used only internally, by Academy administrators, to identify students and families. They are never published or shared outside the Academy. Photography taken during class hours or at Academy events is covered by a separate consent form — see our Privacy Policy.

Donations support the Academy and help provide scholarships for low-income families. Information about Idaho tax credits on our Donate page is general information, not tax advice — please consult a tax professional about your own situation.

We aim to keep the website and Parent Portal available, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change as the Academy's needs change.

Participation in Academy classes and activities is voluntary. To the fullest extent allowed by Idaho law, Snake River Academy and its volunteers are not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from use of this website or participation in the co-op. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

We may update these terms as the Academy grows. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version, and we will notify families of significant changes through the Parent Portal.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho.
